Founded in 1960 by professionals from the academic, institutional and industrial sectors, Torrescalla was inspired by St. Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei, with the aim of being a place for training, studying and discussions, capable of accommodating university students from all over the world.
Since its relocation in 1972 to the district of Città Studi of Milan, Torrescalla has been a benchmark for the Milanese university scene as it welcomes students, in addition to its seventy residents, to attend a range of formative activities the residence has to offer.
